I would like to see more attention focused on bringing skilled workers to the country and making the legal immigration process more streamlined for any worker. It does not make sense to start someone’s American dream by offering them an entitlement program that they will unlikely ever get free of, this will only substitute American poverty in the place of the poverty from the country where they immigrated. What happened to the American Dream of work hard and reap the rewards of your efforts. Let’s not begin the American journey by enabling and promoting welfare. America is founded on the principal of the freedom to pursue happiness. If we make the definition of happiness government sponsored destitution and state handouts and not independence of government and the necessity for self reliance and personal responsibility we are only creating more poverty and at some point there will not be enough taxes to sustain a welfare program of the size that will be needed.
